One advantage of telecommuting is that you have flexible working hours but it can be lonely because you have little direct contact with your colleagues .

Telecommuting

Telecommuting or telework is working for a company from home rather than in the office. It has many advantages and disadvantages at the same time.
Telecommuting has advantages to employee, employers, and communities.
For employees, telecommuting helps people to earn money while working at home. Employees can save money of transportation, baby sitters as they can take care of their kids and work at the same time.
For employers, telecommuting saves them money, the expenses of office equipments and the cost of electricity and water bills.
For the communities, it offers jobs to disabled, retirees, people living in remote areas, and parents of young children who are not able to go to work. People can take care of their children or elderly relatives while working at home. It also reduces traffic congestion, pollution, and saves fuel and energy.
On the other hand, it has some disadvantages. The employees always miss the meetings conducted at work, thus they are not able to express their opinion or ideas on time. They also miss the direct contact with the employer and with the colleagues. In addition, employees face difficulties dealing with clients because not all the clients have adequate technology equipments and few of them are able to communicate effectively using the computer. Recognizing the time zone difference is another problem that usually faced by the employees and clients as well.
Inspite of having many disadvantages, telecommuting is still one important and effective way of work throughout the world.
